I grew up wanting to be a baker, then a dentist. But I hated the sight of blood.
Went to Marist, then Portfolio school at SVA. Learned how to think, not just make ads.
New York, Detroit, LA, and back to NY. BBDO, McCann, FCB. A bunch of other acronyms and last names. Had a basketball thrown at my head on set by a famous director (he missed).
Pitched a lot.
Won some.
Lost some. Convinced the skeptics. Made mistakes. Learned from some incredible people. Grabbed a few awards.
Built platforms.
Launched campaigns. Occasionally opened up for some of the biggest DJs on the planet. Directed when no one else would. Got body slammed by a giant roach.
Presented to very serious conference rooms.
Found out I enjoy mentoring almost as much as writing. Still writing and fighting the good fight. Believing the best ideas are usually the simplest ones.
Still very much trying to make brands sound human.
